Call from a stranger.
Working in a BPO is not something everyone will prefer. It is hard, there is no question about it. Listening to people's crap for 9 hours. Staying up while the rest of the world sleeps. You never get a week off when you're friends are free. And your whole life becomes a chain of smokes, drinks, sleep and endless complains and abuses of random strangers, and you don't have the concept of Tomorrow anymore. But there are moments if those frustrating times when just one call from a perfect stranger makes you smile, makes you feel that "It's all good."
The stranger unknown calls.Says "Hey Phillip what's up. Could you please check if I got any money left on this card. I gotta buy candies for my little sister" He smiles. I check the card and inform, "There is none sir" feeling sad for the first time, in the midst of frustration off all the abuses. Wishing if I could do anything for the Stranger. As it reminded me about the love between "Seita" and "Setsuko" from the movie "Grave of the fireflies", a masterpiece by "Miyazaki". Knowing that he wouldn't be able to buy candies for his sister, as there was no money, he says" Well, I thought there were few $s left on this card. Guess I'll have to go make some candies with sugar after I go back home". He smiles again. Says " Thanks a lot Phillip for the information. You have a good one." Though I wanted to help in every possible way and didn't want to keep him away to make his baby sister happy because of just a few $s. All I could say is the stupid verbiage that we need to. Ending the call, the feeling of sorrow rushed in with a little smile along with it. Thinking, there are still beautiful things in the world. And true emotions can make you and everyone around you happy.
